TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS MARCH 12-13 — Vehicular traffic around Nathan Benderson Park will be restricted as follows: • North Cattlemen Road will become one lane in each direction (in the northbound lanes) around the entire park • World Championship Drive will be closed in its entirety (from the playground to the south boat ramp) • The NBP west lakes will be accessible from Athletes Drive, off Honore Avenue • Parking will be in the Mote lot north of the park (near the bus station) • Pedestrian access to the park remains open Restrictions will be in force during these times: Friday, March 11: 11 a.m.-3:45 p.m. Saturday, March 12: 6:30 a.m.-6:15 p.m. (World Championship Drive closed all day) Sunday, March 13: 7:15 a.m.-2:45 p.m. ACCESS TO REGATTA ISLAND WILL BE LIMITED. NBP Paddling Program and NBP Community Rowing Club members will be briefed on team plans for the weekend. Vehicle traffic onto the island will be restricted to event staff and participants, and only during times to be announced.

The inaugural NBP Masters Classic welcomes masters rowers to a day of 1K competition to shake off those winter blues! Open to masters rowers from anywhere and everywhere, and boat rentals are available. Your host is the NBP Community Rowing Club. The AYC I and AYC IV regattas will be at NBP (AYC IV will be May 14-15), while AYC II and AYC III will be in Aiken, S.C., at Langley Pond. TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS: There will be traffic restrictions around the park (and a free shuttle!).  Regatta Island access: From noon Friday through 7 p.m. Sunday, access will be limited to those with an NBP parking pass or circus show tickets. Program participants will be advised of their access. West shore access: World Championship Drive from the playground south to the Athletes Drive intersection will close all day Saturday and Sunday. That stretch of street will reopen at 6 a.m. Monday.  Athletes Drive access from Honore Avenue: Athletes Drive will be open to cars only as far as the west lake parking lot. From that point further into the park, only pedestrian access will be allowed. South Boat Ramp entrance access from North Cattlemen Road: No restrictions Friday, and a shuttle will run 1:30-5:30 p.m. for rowers to access Regatta Island. This introductory day invites everyone in the community to try rowing, but also to welcome everyone to the new STEM To Stern program at NBP. FREE EVENT for people 12 and older.
