You may also participate virtually - run or walk anytime, anywhere from Sept. 17-24. After the race, stay for the program and awards, with featured speaker Marine Corps Maj. Gen. (Ret.) James S. No experience necessary! Learn to Row is an introduction to sculling that focuses on the fundamentals of sculling (rowing with two oars). Individuals will be taken step by step through nomenclature, safety maneuvers, and independent boat handling skills. This eight-hour course will provide you with the skill set to safely row a single scull. Class is 9 a.m.-noon Sept. 24-25. Enrollment is capped at eight students. Another class will be offered in October. The NBP Paddling Program welcomes all paddlers from across the southeast to join us in a friendly scrimmage at Nathan Benderson Park! We’ll set up Champion small boats from the recent 2022 International Dragon Boat Federation Club Crew World Championships for 200m and 500m racing. This is a perfect opportunity to practice on a world-class course, test your times and, of course, have fun! We’ll have food trucks on-site with food and beverages for purchase. You can also bring your own beverages. The registration fee is $120 per crew per division (pre-registration is required; cash-only payment on-site). If interested, please let us know here!
