Fireworks on the Lake is coming back with a bang! All are invited to a sparkling celebration at Nathan Benderson Park on Friday, July 3. This year’s NBP Fireworks on the Lake – America 250 is being presented by The Pops Orchestra. It will feature live music from Sugar Vibe from 5-8pm, a Kids Zone presented by MOTE Marine, dozens of food trucks at the south end and Regatta Island, family-friendly activities, community mural, America 250 time capsule, spectacular fireworks show around 9 p.m. 92.1 CTQ, Sarasota’s Suncoast Country Station will be on-site with Lulu & Maverick to broadcast live and raffle off two tickets. In addition to being our Presenting Sponsors, The Pops Orchestra will perform a 90 minute patriotic concert on a separate stage, beginning at 8pm and running through the 18 minute fireworks show that will be set from the mid-point of the lake.

What’s more American than Apple Pie?
Well, to recognize this historic event, we will be hosting an Apple Pie Eating Contest, sponsored by Der Dutchman. 10 contestants will be chosen. Whoever can eat a giant apple pie the fastest will win a Stay-Cation family pack for a stay at the Carlisle Inn and complimentary dinner and breakfast for 4 ppl. Plus, “bragging rights” as the America 250 Patriot Pie Champ!
