  • USRowing Youth National Championships

    After winning the SportsTravel Award for “Best Amateur Sporting Event” in 2023, USRowing and Nathan Benderson Park are proud to bring the 2024 USRowing Youth National Championships to Sarasota, Florida again. This event offers opportunities for crews that have qualified from around the country to come together to crown national champions. The USRowing-produced regatta features more than 3,500 rowers racing for medals in as many as 43 events. There are 853 entries from 224 clubs across the nation, all of whom qualified for this event from regional youth championships.     Hosted by The Bolles School. View event website to register! NO TIME TRIALS - we believe youth rowers need to race in the summer. Too many boats (over HALF at many races!) are going to summer races and are done after they race a 1,900 meter time trial.

Enjoy Learn to row demos from Sarasota Crew, food trucks, Beer & Wine served by Oak & Stone Restaurants, Steel Drummer, Inflatable kids games, Olympic photo op and more!  Event is free and there is no charge for parking.     Register now for the Leadership Academy, in partnership with Game On Nation and hosted at Nathan Benderson Park. This is a fun and interactive 6-week program, designed for leaders in the upper levels of the organization, as well as mid-level and emerging talent on a fast-track toward a leadership role. If you’re looking to enhance your leadership skills, then this program is for you! Leadership Academy begins August 16th and runs August 23rd, and September 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th from 8:30 am – 12:00 pm. Register by July 12th for early bird pricing.     While they're called many things such as lantern festivals, lights festivals, floating lanterns, water fest, or Chinese lanterns - only Water Lantern Festival allows you to Light The Water in a way you'll never forget. Experience the magic of thousands of lanterns as the soft lights reflect upon the water.  Water Lantern Festival is filled with fun, happiness, hope, and great memories that you'll cherish for a lifetime. This is a family friendly event that can be shared by everyone. Friends, families, neighbors, and lots of people that you haven't met can come together to create a peaceful, memorable experience. Gates open at 4 p.m., with launch from 7-8 p.m. Design your own lantern, and send your own well wishes aglow across the lake.
