POSITION TITLE: Rowing Coach
REPORTS TO: Program Manager
SUPERVISES: Non-supervisory
COMPENSATION: $15.00 – $20.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)
CATEGORY: Part-time – Non-exempt
DESCRIPTION
Suncoast Aquatic Nature Center Associates Inc. (SANCA) is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit contracted by Sarasota County to manage the operations of the world-class Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Fla. SANCA seeks enthusiastic and motivated candidates for our Rowing Coach position. The purpose of the position is to instruct, motivate and develop our Rowing Program which includes Masters & Collegiate level rowers.
QUALIFICATIONS
– Must have 2-3 years of experience in the sport of rowing
– Must possess strong customer service skills
– Positive attitude and professional demeanor
– Punctual and reliable
– Must be 18 years of age or older
– High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience
– Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS (or must be willing to receive certification within 30 days of hiring):
– USRowing Level 2
– First Aid/CPR certified
– Open Water Lifeguard
– Safesport
– Florida Boater License
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
– Ability to lift, move, push and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 50 pounds
– Must be available to work mornings, evenings, and weekends
– Must be available to travel for races
RESPONSIBILITIES
§ Ensure the safety and development of all participants
§ Instruct, plan, and oversee the NBP Rowing Program
§ Motivate and offer knowledgeable instruction to all participants in the session
§ Ensure any equipment in use is prepared before scheduled sessions
