SUMMARY:Last Paddler Standing
DESCRIPTION:Last Paddler Standing is an endurance SUP race. Unlike any other paddle race in the world\, Last Paddler Standing is a race of stamina and strategy. Racers will paddle a 3.33-mile loop course\, starting and finishing the loop within a one-hour period. The next loop will begin on the hour and the race goes until only one paddler is left standing. At the 48-hour mark\, the length of the loop will be increased. Do you have what it takes to be the Last Paddler Standing? \n\n\n\nThis is a SUP-only race. Paddlers must use a single blade\, no double blades allowed. Boards cannot be hybrid sit on top. Prone is allowed but you must have a paddle on the board with you at all times. This race is designed to challenge your endurance\, stamina\, and strategic thinking. It’s not solely about speed\, so don’t select your SUP based on that. The race will start on Saturday\, Nov 30 at 9:00 AM. The race will go until there’s one finisher. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe race is timed with each loop starting on the hour\, every hour. Racers must be at the starting line within 10 seconds of the top of the hour. Racers must complete the course loop within the hour time period and be ready to go at the top of the next hour. If the race comes down to two final competitors\, the race will continue until one quits. At which point\, the final competitor must finish one final solo loop in order to claim the title of Last Paddler Standing. \nThis race could last only a few hours or it could last for days. It all depends on your mental and physical fortitude!

Music\, fundraising awards\, a Full Life Fair\, opportunities to honor the memory of someone special\, and more!   Registration is at 8am\, walk begins at 9am. \nThe Remembrance Walk will feature opening ceremonies\, turnarounds at any point along the 3-mile route for those who prefer a shorter distance\, an awards ceremony for top fundraisers\, food trucks and refreshments\, and a Full Life Fair where participants can learn about Tidewell Hospice and Empath Health’s wide range of services.  The Tidewell Foundation\, Inc. is an independent charitable foundation established to ensure perpetual philanthropic support to Tidewell Hospice and portions of Empath Health’s family of companies. For 40 years\, Tidewell Hospice has made a profound impact on the lives of thousands of patients and families across southwest Florida. A not-for-profit hospice\, Tidewell’s mission is to provide care for all – even those without insurance\, Medicare\, Medicaid\, or other sources of payment.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for New Paddler Day –  open to everyone.  It’s FREE! Try out paddling with no strings attached — if you’re ages 14 and older\, there’s a seat in the boat for you! \nThe NBP Paddling Program uses dragon boats\, outrigger canoes and more. Whether you’re interested in recreational paddling or you want to be competitive\, we have a place for you. Learn the basics of dragon boating \nWe provide the life jackets and paddles\, so bring your sense of adventure and teamwork! You’ll start with on-land training\, proper fit of a personal flotation device and paddle\, and then get an on-the-water orientation. \n \nNBP has several Dragon Boat Teams (Survivors in Sync know as SIS)\, All Cancer Team\, NBP Dragons with a womens and mixed team\, and the NBP VETERANS Team of Military Veterans). We will have a SEAT IN THE BOAT for anyone interested.\nIt is recommended to arrive 20 minutes early to get your provided gear on.
