Andrew D. Minor joined the board of Suncoast Aquatic Nature Center Associates in January 2021.
“I am honored and proud to be asked to be of service to the Suncoast Aquatic Nature Center Associates board of directors,” Minor said. “The facilities and the events that the organization have held in the past have established a strong brand and global recognition for our community. I am excited to be part of the future of SANCA and what we can build for Sarasota and Manatee counties.”
SANCA Chairman Ron Shapo said Minor will be “an exceptional addition to our board.”
“He is passionate about serving his community, and has a long history of exemplary service and leadership in multiple capacities, both in the business and nonprofit sectors,” Shapo said. “He is widely known and respected in Manatee County, and will give us further insight into the interests of our neighboring county. Manatee provides important support to the park and is home to many of the park’s users. Andy also brings additional financial expertise to the Board. We are delighted to welcome Andy to the board.”
From the moment he started at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management in 2004, Minor said he has worked in leadership and developed the skills to help his clients achieve their financial goals. In 2015, he was appointed resident director of the Merrill office in Bradenton. He has since become senior resident director.
Minor graduated from the University of Alabama with a bachelor of science in chemical engineering. He has continually pursued higher education, becoming a certified financial planner. In addition to Merrill’s continuing education goals, Minor said he made it a priority to pursue additional accreditations and licenses to best serve his clients and community.
Minor serves on the boards of the Early Learning Coalition of Manatee County and the Manatee County Fair Assn. He is the longest-serving president of the Sarasota-Manatee Chapter of the University of Alabama Alumni Assn., in addition to serving a three-year term as the vice president of the Florida region in the national University of Alabama Alumni Assn. He is an active member of the Economic Development Council of Manatee County and the Manatee County Chamber of Commerce. He is also active at St Joseph Catholic Church, serving on both the advisory Council and the Knights of Columbus.
Minor lives with his wife and their three children in Bradenton, where he is actively engaged in family, school and church activities that he said help him “truly understand” generational wealth management planning.
