Both the in-person NBP Fireworks On The Lake
and WWSB ABC 7's Suncoast Strong: A Fourth Of July Celebration
were a memorable time!
PARK OPERATIONS STATUS
Beginning at 6 a.m. June 1:
GATES OPEN — All internal roads in the park are open. For the protection and safety of park staff and of summer campers, the Regatta Island gates will remain closed. The upper finish tower parking lot, between the two bridges onto the island, will remain open as it has. The island gates near the finish tower and the SANCA office will be open only during summer camp drop-off and pick-up hours, and only for summer camp use.
SOCIAL DISTANCING — Park visitors are reminded to practice safe social distancing, to remain home if they have any signs of illness, and to wash their hands regularly with soap and water.
GROUPS — As a reminder, groups of 10 or more individuals are not permitted. Organized group activities, and the promotion or conduct of commerce, are not permitted in the park without a permit from NBP.
RECREATION EQUIPMENT RENTALS — Daily rentals are available by appointment — contact our programs staff. Unlimited recreational equipment rentals are available as an add-on to the basic NBPerks! membership for $20 per month (in addition to the $10 per month basic membership fee).
BOAT RAMP — The boat ramp is open. As a reminder, only electric motors are authorized; gas motors must be raised to indicate they aren’t in use.
PLAYGROUND — The Ronald A. Balducci Playground is open from 6 a.m.-8 p.m. — it will close for an hour at 8 a.m., noon and 4 p.m. for an hour for cleaning.
REGATTA ISLAND — While the upper finish tower parking lot remains open, the gates into the rest of Regatta Island will remain closed to car traffic.
RESTROOMS — All park restrooms are open, and an amplified cleaning schedule will remain in place. High-contact areas and touch points continue to be regularly disinfected throughout the day.
PARK OFFICE — The park office remains closed, though staff members are available by appointment. To reach the park staff, call 941-358-7275 and follow the prompts to reach the appropriate personnel. To email the staff, click here to route your message to the right place.
PROGRAMS AND TRAINING — Park programs with groups of 10 or fewer are open, with protective precautions in place. The list of programs is below. Training is open for individuals and for groups with sessions of 10 or fewer people. Larger groups will be considered on a case-by-case basis with approved safety guidelines established.
EVENTS — Events will be permitted on a case-by-case basis and pending an approved temporary use permit (TUP). See the events pages on this site for more information.
All functions follow proper social distancing procedures, practice equipment disinfecting when shared or high-contact equipment is in use, require face coverings when personal contact cannot be avoided, and use readily available hand sanitizer. No program will be permitted with groups greater than 10.
