About Kitt Noythanongsay

Kitt got involved in dragon boating approximately seven years ago. He quickly rose to the position of head coach of SACA Golden Dragons Paddling Club and continues in that position today.

When SACA needed more steers, Kitt volunteered to learn this skill. He has excelled at steering and has taught several individuals how to steer so that they are comfortable and confident even in the most challenging conditions.

Kitt has worked for festival organizers; such as PanAm, High Five, and GWN; as a coach and steers. In those roles, he coaches novice paddlers in preparation for festival events and then steers during the events. He truly enjoys coaching the paddlers he has just met through their first ever dragon boat race.  He has also coached and led corporate team building events.

He has been asked to “guest coach” for local teams and has been approached by paddlers at all levels for one-on-one instruction in dragon boat and outrigger (OC1 and OC2) paddling. Kitt has competed and coached throughout the US and internationally. Some of his favorite race venues have been Vancouver, BC; Taipei,Taiwan; and Ravenna, Italy.

Kitt has continued to train in the sport himself, and paddles with SACA, Florida Tarpons and as an ad hoc paddler for various teams. He is looking forward to competing with TeamUSA in Thailand in 2019. Kitt hopes that during this two day paddling clinic, that you’ll be challenged and inspired to up your game to the next level of competition.
